Tara Little
(she/her)
Lead Admin Coordinator and Insurance Billing Specialist
Tara is a native of Savannah, Georgia, and recently relocated to the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan, where she lives with her husband in a renovated farmhouse shared with their two goats, thirteen chickens, two dogs, and two cats.
After 25 years in the veterinary field, Tara made an exciting career transition and joined the TLB Nutrition Therapy team in 2021. Through her own experiences navigating diet culture, body image challenges, and the impact of generational dieting, she developed a deep appreciation for the importance of healing one’s relationship with food, body, and movement. This personal journey led to an immediate connection with TLB’s mission and values. She is honored to support a team dedicated to helping clients find freedom from diet culture and move toward a more peaceful, compassionate relationship with themselves.
As TLB Nutrition Therapy’s Lead Administrative Coordinator, Tara oversees many of the day-to-day administrative operations that help keep the practice running smoothly. She is also the first person most clients connect with when reaching out to TLB. Known for her warmth, compassion, and genuine desire to help others, Tara takes pride in ensuring that every client feels welcomed, supported, and cared for from the very first conversation.
Tara truly wears many hats at TLB Nutrition Therapy and is often the behind-the-scenes force that helps keep the practice running smoothly. As Lead Administrative Coordinator, she oversees and supports the administrative team while managing a wide range of responsibilities, including new client intake, insurance verification, billing questions, intake paperwork, scheduling coordination, insurance referrals, claim denials, and provider communications. She also plays an integral role in insurance appeals, advocating for clients and working diligently to help secure coverage for medically necessary nutrition services whenever possible.
Whether she is helping a new client get started, troubleshooting an insurance issue, or supporting the administrative team, Tara approaches every interaction with compassion, dedication, and a genuine desire to help. She understands that taking the first step toward seeking support can feel overwhelming and strives to make the process as seamless, welcoming, and stress-free as possible.
Outside of work, Tara enjoys caring for her animals, restoring vintage furniture, and decorating her home with creative flair. She finds joy in sunshine, nature, and being near the water—especially the ocean. Her kindness, attention to detail, and commitment to helping others make her an invaluable part of the TLB Nutrition Therapy team.
