Lauren Harrison, MS, RDN, LDN

(she/her)

Lauren holds a Bachelor's degree in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise and a Master's in Agriculture and Life Sciences from Virginia Tech. Her academic background gave her a strong understanding of nutrition as a metabolic process, food production systems, and how people think and feel about food.

Lauren has always believed that food is more than just fuel—it’s deeply connected to our emotions, experiences, and identities. She understands the many barriers within our food systems and the pressure of diet culture, and she is committed to helping clients navigate these challenges with empathy and realistic strategies.

As a dietitian, Lauren’s mission is to support clients in building, healing, and maintaining respectful, peaceful relationships with food and their bodies. She takes into account all aspects of a person’s life, including their social determinants of health, and uses curiosity and compassion to guide her nutrition therapy.

Lauren’s work is rooted in supporting clients with eating disorders across all levels of care. Her experience has since expanded to working with individuals from diverse backgrounds on concerns including chronic dieting, sports nutrition, cardiovascular health, and other chronic conditions. She also has a passion for working with neurodivergent clients, those who are pregnant, postpartum, or planning to be pregnant, and individuals seeking a more supportive relationship with movement.

She is adamant that humans aren’t a textbook and therefore each person, regardless of their circumstances, deserves a highly personalized approach. Lauren enjoys assisting all individuals in pursuing nutrition counseling through a food-and-weight-neutral lens. She is equipped to help untangle long-ingrained beliefs about weight and creates a safe, authentic space where clients can show up fully and explore what it means to trust their bodies again.

Outside of work, Lauren enjoys gardening, live music, and camping trips to the coast or the Blue Ridge Mountains. She’s also passionate about animal rescue—when she’s not working, you’ll likely find her relaxing on the floor with her foster bunnies.

Lauren is a registered and licensed dietitian in the state of Maryland, Missouri, North Carolina, Texas and West Virginia.  She is engaging in telehealth sessions.
